Tucked away in the heart of Western Colorado is a veritable playground of soaring granite cliffs called Unaweep Canyon. Unaweep is a Ute word that means “canyon of two mouths” and is the only canyon in the world where creeks flow out of the canyon in opposite directions. Carved out by glaciers over 300 million years ago, the canyon hosts the same rock as the nearby Black Canyon of the Gunnison and makes for a great arena to train for longer routes in that area. Come learn the fundamentals of granite crack and face climbing and venture up your first multipitch routes. With a plethora of high quality routes from 5.6 to 5.13, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.
