Cascades Glacier Mountaineering

What:

The Cascades are home to some of the largest and most beautiful glaciers in the lower 48. A combination of heavy annual snowfall (Mount Baker holds the world record), along with higher elevations and lots of cloudy days make these peaks some of the best places on earth to peer into massive crevasses and ponder the abyss. These routes are perfect for those new to the world of snowy glaciated peaks as all climbers on mountaineering trips are taught the basics of roping up for glacier travel and snow climbing techniques before leaving camp and going for the summit. The routes themselves vary in difficulty from introductory-level routes for those new to cramponing to more advanced climbs with some steeper sections and belayed climbing.
