The Mooses Tooth.
The Mooses Tooth is one of the most iconic peaks in the Alaska Range, offering two classic ice and mixed routes up its south face. Ham and Eggs features 2400’ of classic steep snow and ice climbing up to AI4 followed by a mindblowing ridge traverse to the summit. If you’re hungry for more and the conditions align, right next door is the steeper and more sustained, Shaken Not Stirred. This route climbs a similar but steeper couloir through a series of icy curtains and narrow runnels, culminating in an often overhanging pitch of WI5+ and M5. The climbing is classic, the views are insane and flying onto the Root Canal Glacier is an unforgettable experience. Contact us for more information or to book a trip! We also have a blog post from a 2024 trip to the Mooses Tooth.
Climbers looking to tackle any route on the Mooses Tooth should have a solid background in ice movement and feel comfortable following WI4 all day long with a 20-30lb pack
Experience in glacier travel, crevasse rescue and snow camping is a must
We require all prospective Alaska Range climbers to climb with us beforehand so we can ensure we are matching you with the right objective for your skill level
